Video Tour of the Coolest Apartment Ever

I was having trouble posting the video straight to blogger, so I threw it on YouTube. You'll have to have this link to view it (it isn't searchable). Enjoy!

Our Apartment

For Really Real Reals this time:

The bedroom. That's a moose on the bed. His name is Mr. Loose Moose (or something like that). We got him in Jackson Hole.
That is the bathroom. I like the brown shower curtain a lot. That little basket held the cards at the wedding. Now it holds extra toilet paper.
The living room! The couch is from Adam's parents. His mom wanted to throw it away before Adam's mission. He begged her not to. Result-we get it! The awesome chairs are from his grandparents. They are lazyboy brand and about a million years old. Despite the horrible shade of orange, I love them! The coffee table was a gift from our neighbors. They upgraded, to our benefit. On the coffee table lies Fablehaven. We read it everyday, and stay up too late reading it, and regret it every morning. Morris family, that is the picture of the Savior you gave us under the lamp. You can't see it well in this picture, but it looks so great in my living room. Thank you so much!
The kitchen. Adam and I purchased the table from a couple that is moving to England (I think...) for grad school. I wouldn't say we got a deal, but it is pretty much the only furniture we purchased (along with the dresser that we bought with gift cards).
The kitchen from the front door. Look at all the neat things in my kitchen. And that's not even the half of it. Those cubboards are full of glasses, and pans, and all sorts of things. Thanks everyone for all the gifts. I absolutely love my kitchen. I love my toaster oven, my knives, my rice cooker, my punch bowl/cake stand, my triffle dish (currently holding fruit), my microwave, my dish towels, and on and on...

Hope you enjoyed the tour. Come back again. And come for reals. We like company. That table folds out to seat 6...okay, so that's not a ton...but hey! We still have Adam's parent's card table in our storage room. That will seat 4 more. Nevermind the fact we only have five chairs total. (three of which borrowed from Mom and Dad Loose).

New Apartment

Lisa asked us to post some pictures of our apartment

I don't have the best pictures of the place, but I tried to get a few good shots.

Here is the living room.

Our kitchen isn't really our style, but it will due.

It isn't much, but not too bad for a starter place. We'll upgrade eventually.

6:30 PM

The Play's the Thing...

Someone finish the sentence above. Bonus points for naming the play.

So I wasn't very good at wrestling kids and taking pictures of this performance, sorry. Kendle and Paige were in a Wicked/Wizard of Oz spin-off play. Kirtlan and Maddie did their third session of Shakespeare for kids. The first one was Midsummer Nights Dream, then Much Ado About Nothing, and the only one we have pics for here is for As You Like It.
Paige is the cute little girl in green.
Kendle is the animal in the middle next to the giraffe.
Great Work Girls!!!

Kirtlan and Maddie are Shepherds

Engagements

We spent the weekend in Logan to visit Adam's brother, see the cousins, and have Kristi take our engagement pictures. We haven't seen them all yet, but she posted a few to her blog. We'll see more as they come.

I love Adam. A lot.

4:59 PM

Look at me!

I go tired of answering so I just started selecting randomly.

I am Elinor Dashwood!

It's sooo TRUE!

Done whining

I've been rather whiny about Adam being sick. Timing could not be worse and it just totally bummed me out that he has been so sick.

Then today, I was just informed that one of my friends has skin cancer, has to start chemo this summer, can't do his internship, and all of this out of nowhere last weekend. Needless to say, his fiance is having a little bit of a rough time with it.

The Lord has blessed me. Mono (or whatever Adam has) is not fun, but it is a blessing in a way. I have Adam, we are getting married this summer, and even if we still aren't sure what we are doing this summer exactly, we at least know we aren't going to chemo.

12:09 PM

Mrs. Kimberly Loose

That will be my name on June 11th. You have all been aware of that fact, but I'm excited about it. So I thought I would post.

Adam is amazing, so wonderfully perfectly amazing. And I'm a very happy girl. You will all love him. He's going to be a great addition to this family.

Speaking of Adam...he's sick. Super yucky, not happy, nasty, bleh sick. Send some prayers up to heaven for him, so he can get back on his feet and finish up the semester. He might have mono, and has been told that he will be contagious for the next 3 weeks-3months. He is to not share food or kiss anyone for 3 months. We get married in a little over two. Ummmm...yeah. That said... he will be avoiding both David and Traci, as well as all babies and mothers of babies. Don't be offended. He just doesn't want to hurt anyone.

ON a different NOTE:
I was looking at old posts...

About a year and a half ago, I made a post about finals and it makes me laugh.

Finals aren't my problem this time around, it's projects. Projects that I have put off. Not because I'm horribly lazy...but I'm a little lazy.

BUT, I'm getting married. AND I am getting married to ADAM! I'm excited! So, so, so excited and happy and happy and excited.

As far as wedding plans go:
Flowers: white daisies
Colors: light blue and brown
Temple: Oquirrh Mountain
Date: June 11, 2010
Reception: Ben Lomond Suites Hotel- Ballroom in Ogden, Utah that night
Groom: Adam Earl Loose =)

Yeah, that's basically what is important

Last Day in the Schools

Today is my last day working at Sprucewood Elementary School here in Draper, Utah.

Do you know what that means?
1. No more waking up at 6, to leave the house at 7, to get to the school by 8.
2. No more rushing home at 2:30, dropping off the other girls from the carpool in a few spots across campus.
3. No more spending an hour and a half in the car daily, with four other girls who are all trying to finish up lesson plans, grade papers, do assignments, and read books...because none of us have enough time otherwise.
4. No more lunches in a lunch room with the teachers that ramble about district policies where half the time (if not more) I'm not quite sure what they are talking about or exactly what their complaint is.
5. No more getting home from the school, just to rush off to work, and to get home well after dark, missing all the beautiful weather we've had in Provo.
6. No more grading papers and wondering who on Earth taught these kids how to write...their handwriting is worse than the 2nd graders in my last school.
7. No more standing for the pledge every morning, always being impressed by the respect every student shows the flag.
8. No more reading aloud about WWII, and hearing the students heartfelt reactions to the horrors they are only beginning to understand.
9. No more watching students jump right into a stack of books because they actually WANT to know about Stalin, Hitler, Churchhill, and Mussolini.
10. No more learning random facts from your students and watching them impersonate dead world leaders (you should all see Addie be Mussolini...it's life changing).
11. No more seeing the lightbulb go on when you explain something about space (as if I know anything about space).
12. No more excited twelve year old girls ask about my fiance with such excitement.
13. No more doodles from Emily when she should be paying attention.
14. No more telling Riley that his head can hit the table when mine does.
15. No more hearing students share their dreams, what they WILL be when they grow up, and defend themselves if somebody tries to tell them otherwise.

No more...until the Fall.

I love teaching and it's one of the best things in the world. What a blessing it is to be able to teach. Thank you Mom for all you taught me. Thank you Dad for setting the expectation to go to college. Thank you sisters (and brothers-in-law...you helped too) for having cute kids. Thank you Dave, I'm sure you helped me somehow too (just kidding Dave, you have been such a blessing in my life).

9:12 PM

Adam Took the Quiz TOO!

Yeppers. My fiance is Elizabeth Bennett. I guess that makes me Mr. Darcy. I'm a jerk.

12:52 PM

I'm not sure who this is

I am Catherine Morland!

Bet you never saw this coming...

I took one of those quizzes that I never take (but this one said Jane Austen and I was in an Austen mood)

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

Surprise anyone? Anyone? Anyone at all?

I was thinking as I took the quiz I would get Emma Woodhouse (social, meddling, know it all) but I got what I have been accused of being my whole life (Stifling, responsible, friendly)
