Overzealousness Runs In Our Blood

Okay, so for anyone who didn't know, Kimmi is running for Student Body President this week and I am running for Student Nurses Association President this week. Dave made Kimmi a website for her campaign and I thought that was pretty cool, so Jared put one together real quick for me. I encourage you all to check them out. I know Kim's is way better than mine, but I only have to convince about 250 people to vote for me-Kimmi has about 2,700.

Has anyone else called the Morrises and had Kirtlan answer the phone? It made my day. Little high pitched Kirtlan voice, "Hello?"

Hey Family!

I just thought I'd post a blog about what's going on in my life. I'm running for ASB president, so vote Kim Brown (she'll take you to town). No, that's not my slogan. In fact, I don't have a slogan. If anyone comes up with one, please share.

So there is me and my friends (sorry, my friends and me...correct grammer) at Winter Formal. Actually we are at Target. We had time to kill before dinner, so somehow we ended up at target. Does that dress look familar to anybody? It should! I think the gloves added a bit of me to it, so I'm my own self. At least I like to think i'm my own self. I bet i'm more like the rest of you than I think. The other picture is of James and I at dinner. We have two friends that cooked and served dinner to us in a friends house. It was really fun.

Well, I miss you all. I can't wait to see you again.

Kimmie!

Hi Im David :-)

Hello (for those in the ward that don't know me) my name is David Brown

Shelly has asked me to blog about myself

Things are going good here in mo-town, that's Modesto. Im am going to school full time and I have two jobs. One at Jiffy Lube and the other throwing papes with the family. I play soccer every monday night and go bowling every wednesday night. I stink at both sports. I spend most of my time fighting the boys off of Kim. Hey guess what! The other day Kim and I were cleaning out the garage with dad and we were murmering like lamen and lemuel and Dad said he wished we were more like the three older siblings who have good work ethics and never complain. So that's a compliment to you older sisters. I am taking a piano class at The JC and it is surprisingly easy! Do you guys remember those piano lesson we had as kids. Ya i know i quit early but what little i did learn helped me alot to work on my music skills. And moms candles help me work on my numchuck skills. Well life is good here so no worries. Love all you guys soooo much.

love

Who would win a fight between...

Here's how this game goes. The first person posts "Who would win a fight between..." and puts two people. The next comment answers and then posts their own "Who would win a fight between..." I'll do the first two so you can see how it works.

Who would win a fight between Big Bird and Elmo?

Hey guys. I need some more time to figure out how this website works! It has taken me 12 or so tries to send this out.

Here is a picture of Kylie when she took her aunt Sara for a walk by our home. I'll have to send the rest out when I can!

We enjoy reading all of your posts!

Waxing Elequent

O.K. so the title is a bit misleading. Here is something that I sent to BYU Magazine but I'm sure they're not going to publish. So, to heck with them, I'll publish is here (oh, the joys of vanity press) and submit all of you to my endless diatribes....

What I Learned in My Field of Study that Helps Me in My Field of Lifeby Shelly Morris
Acting can lead to lots of rejections. It’s an ugly but necessary part of the field. While studying at BYU one of my Theater professors, in reference to this fact of “the business”, talked about how “Being told that we aren’t good at something” is incredibly stifling to our creative selves. She believed that children are born thinking that they can accomplish pretty much anything. It’s experiences that begin to shape whether we believe we can accomplish things. If we are told that we are not good at drawing then we might stop trying.
This conversation changed the way I care for my own children. I’m very careful in how I respond to their creative attempts to draw, or sing, or dance. I applaud their efforts to make-up stories, build with clay, or pretend to cook. I’m cautious not to be negative. I try to praise with honesty their attempts to bravely be themselves. I’m so proud of them and glad we have creative time as a chance to reaffirm that they are unique, clever, children of God, with talents all their own.
This truth also relates to the way they feel about themselves in general. I try to make sure that they understand that I believe that they are beautiful and good. I try, the best I can, to create an environment where they can see themselves as God sees them. They ARE capable of pretty much anything. God knows that. Sure we have our limitations, but why dwell on them? We might be surprised how far we can reach.

MySpace

O.K. I'm totally addicted to MySpace (just ask Chad) But I would totally love if Holly and Lisa were on it (spouses as well but lets just say Chad won't do it.) Kimmy's there, Dave's got 2, Johnny, Timmy, James, Marissa, Kira, Kristy, Britney, and Doug Bay. It's really easy to sign up (and totally free) but it is a fun little time sucker. So do what I did and take Hearts off your computer and sign up for MySpace. Come on, everybodies doing it...

Jared and Holly's Christmas Break

Hello Family!

Just wanted to give an update about our little trip. It was quite the adventure and we got to do lots.

It was a long trip there in this little car. We ended up staying overnight in a middle-of-nowhere town and our total driving time was about 21 hours (it was supposted to be about 14).

We had Christmas with Jared's family, then went up to Seattle for a day. We went to the SpaceNeedle (not on it, Holly's kinda cheap like that) and we went to Pike Place Market (where you don't have to spend any money), then we met Gail, Mariah, and Amber in a restuarant nearby. Afterwards, we did a session in the Seattle Temple. We didn't know we would travel so far to see Provo's sister set-up.

We got to visit lots of people while we were in Southern Washington. We saw Greg and Stacy in Sandy, Liz and Steve and Xilone Puffer in Mollala, and Briana and Dave Butler in Hillsboro (Trenton is still as crazy as he was at our reception).

We went through the Portland Temple just before we went home making it so Jared has only been to one more temple than I have-Jordan River. Maybe you can help me with that one, Emily and Travis.

We are currently just getting ready for our next semester. We love you all!

Our own Site

Hey Family! I thought this would be a great way to keep in touch with one another. It's sort of like Lisa's newsletter but with a lot less work from Lisa and no postage! I'll throw one up this week but right now I'm really tired. LOVE YOU ALL!!!
