This was sooooo funny. That last picture with the kids was the first picture of the shoot. Eliza clocked Lisa with a hard sippy cup. I'll post the cute pictures of the Bowman kids soon. They are adorable kids. Even grumpy they are cute! (and they were happy before and after the shoot.....)

4th of July was a fun fun day!Maddie is growing up into a beautiful little tiny lady. She was born to be in front of the camera.

We played in the sprinklers and Cannon got a face full of water, but no tears.

The day started with Kimball crawling onto the couch where I was sleeping. I cuddled up close to him, and Kirtlan soon joined us at my feet. Maddie wanted in, so i put Kimball on top of me, and let Maddie cuddle close. Cannon came down, and realizing he didn't have a spot...tempted Kimball into the kitchen with some toys. He then crawled up to replace Kimball. Soon they started to get up (apparently I'm no fun when I'm half asleep). So, when Christian came down there was plenty of room. I pulled him up, and he gave me some HUGE hugs and just laid his head down on me. (You must understand, the day before, he wouldn't let me hold him the first 30 minutes I was there).
Then, Shelly yelled down, 20 minutes until the parade. I hopped up, we hopped into the car and saw the parade under a beautifully cloudy sky.
The afternoon was playing outside and eating lunch. Then we watched patriotic cartoons (aka, I fell asleep on the love sac).
Later that evening, we ran through sprinklers at Grandma and Grandpa Morris', ate lots of yummy food, went on the slip'n'slide, (I snuck in some homework) and had s'mores on a fire in their backyard. We ended the day by watching fireworks. Cannon crawled into Grandma Morris' lap saying, "I'm just going to take a nap, okay?". Maddie signed to me "You're beautiful" and Kirtlan requested that "the adults say oooo and ahhhh" more.
It was a happy 4th. I, like all of you, feel so blessed to live in a free land where we are able to find joy and happiness in our family and our faith.

Taking an idea from Briana I asked my kids a couple of questions today. The answers were kind of telling.
9. What does your mom do when you're not around?
M: Clean
K: Clean, take care of my other brothers and sisters
C: I think she does nothing (yep, when not in your presence everyone else ceases to exist)

M: he’s good at working

You all already know that but I thought it was worth posting on the family blog. We will be getting married in the Manti Temple on August 15th at 11:15 AM. They would ask the family to be seated by 10:45. We are planning on booking a cultural hall to stuff all the kids in. We are also hoping to have a easy luncheon right after in Manti. Needless to say I am pretty excited and happy. Thanks for all your support.

OK Kimmie, here goes.....
Christian walks around everywhere and just recently began going down the stairs safely.
Cannon likes to snuggle with his mom and punch people on the Wii
Kimball knows his name has two L's in it and is still fascinated with that fact.
Maddie is practicing really hard for High School Musical 2 and is the youngest member of the cast
Kirtlan loves being out of school and constantly shows me how well he did on his report card.
Shelly is going crazy trying to play catch-up on an ill-planned musical production, maybe buy an investment property in Provo, get ready for a trip to disneyland, and a trip to D.C. and be the fun mom this summer.
Chad is changing jobs today. He's not gonna teach for a couple of years so that he can write full-time for the church. He's a little nervous as he doesn't know exactly what to expect. Plus he has to plan for 2 EFY's, summer trips for his Young Men, and how to be the coolest bald dad on the block (and there is some competition)
Expect no blog posts from us until after Disneyland, when we will have a bunch of pictures to post.

MORRIS UPDATE
Kirtlan just became the youngest graduate of John Hopkins University. He will be attending medical school with uncle Johnny in OK. Maddie grew the biggest tomato in all of Davis county and won the blue ribbon at the fair. The tomato was pink. The twins built a bridge over the street, so they don't have to hold mom's hand while crossing. Now they are working on plans for a bridge to Hawaii. Christian is learning new words. For some reason, all of his words are Korean, but he's learning none the less.
Chad and Shelly are doing fine, enjoying the crazy life of five kids and three dogs. Oh yeah, they bought some new puppies last week. And some chickens. However, half of their chickens have been eaten by the dogs. They are currently saving to buy a separate cage for the dogs and the remaining chickens.

Hey Family!
I'm trying to really save some money. I've set a budget, but I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how to stick to the budget, where to shave off a few extra cents every month, or how to eat super cheap (that is still relatively healthy...apparently man is not meant to live on instant rice alone). Oh, and that's another thing, is regular rice cheaper? How do you make regular rice without a rice cooker? Does rice have nutritional value? Holly eats a lot of it, so I always assumed it did.
I'm trying to eat healthier so I have more energy. I'm trying to eat fruits, veggies, etc. Any good tips? Is it okay that I drench my veggies in ranch? I'm not trying to loose weight, just gain energy...so ranch is fine, right? I drink tons of water. Therefore I'm not hungry for milk. (I usually have milk in my cereal only, and I only have cereal like 4 times a week) Are my bones going to fall apart Holly? Is there a cheaper way to get calcium besides milk? I like milk, and it isn't that expensive...i just don't go shopping very much, so I always try to make one gallon last two weeks. I learned that I can freeze it, so I keep a gallon in my freezer, and use that for the second half of the month. Am I going through it way too slow? I want to save money, but osteoporosis does not sound delightful.
The other problem with drinking a lot of water is this: I cannot go two hours without needing to use a restroom. This poses a problem...of my three class I am in right now, two of them are two hours long. Also, I work long hours. I can excuse myself whenever I need, but still....it's kinda ridiculous. And, we are going through toilet paper like no other in my apartment. Oh the joys of trying to change a habit. This is a problem I don't need help solving. I just wanted to share, and you are probably thinking, why is she sharing this...

Along the healthy lines...I'm obsessed with youtube right now. It has some awesome work out videos. You just type in how much time you have, and what muscles you want to work out and bam. A new workout video every time, free of charge. It's my best friend. :)
These are the questions that go through my head all day long, but whenever I have one of you on the phone, I usually forget to ask.
WARNING: Dad, don't get your hopes up because of the following question. No decisions have been made. I'm just trying to prepare, just in case. How much do you guys think it would cost to go on a mission? Not just the monthly payment, but the cost of clothing and other things I'll need before hand. I bet it could add up real quick. How much should I be putting away? Anybody have any good guesses.

President David O. McKay once said, ‘No greater responsibility can rest upon any man [or woman], than to be a teacher of God’s children’ I'm writing a paper on my personal philosophy of teaching, and so I'm reviewing Teaching, No Greater Call. I just came across that quote at the very beginning.
I'm excited to go into teaching, but I'm more excited to thank you Mom and Dad for being my teachers. You guys have been absolutely wonderful in teaching me everything from how to spell my name, a love for books, who I am, and about Christ. Thanks for all your teaching methods. Mom, thanks for reading to me, with me, and simply in my line of sight. Dad, thanks for sharing stories of your childhood, your love of people, and singing to me in the hammock on those many camping trips.
I can't begin to express how much you guys have taught me. I love you both dearly. I couldn't have asked for better parents.

Last Friday night David and I went on a double date. Not with each other, because that would be gross. First we went to TACO BELL (aren't you super proud dad?) and took it to a playground at a mental institution for a picnic. We think it was close to where Shelly and Chad got engaged. After that, we went ice skating.

Easter was a ton of fun! Thanks to Shelly for all her hard work with the food and putting together the Easter Egg hunt. The kids sure had a blast, and we were all very happy.
